Bob Marley was
born in 1945 in Nine Mile, Jamaica. His parents were Norval Marley, a captain
of the navy and Cendella and they married against the opinion of Marley’s
family. Bob Marley
started to sing, and he recorded his first song “Judge Not” in 1961. However, the
song “Simmer Down” was his first number one. In 21st
April 1966, Haile Selassie I visited Jamaica, and he instructed Bob Marley in
the Rastafarian faith. This man was
considered a saviour, because he seemed to
be the directly descended from King Salomon and he must be the savior of
African people. Bob Marley also played an important role in 1970s because he made
Manley and his opposition rival in politics Edward Seaga shake hands at the
1978 Peace Concert. Bob died
from cancer in 1981. Doctors diagnosed melanoma cancer in the big toe of this
right foot. He was treated, but some years after, Doctors discovered that the
cancer had returned and it was present in his lungs and brain. He is laid to
rest in his birthplace, Nine Mile. Bob’s family is owner of this place, and Tourists
can visit it to know more about Bob Marley’s life. Sometimes, Bob’s mother is
in this natural world and talk with the tourist about his son.
